When our acventure begins, Andraste Siadonnel is enjoying a quite afternoon in her home, with her hand maidens. They are discussing the big feast they were having for the arrival of family members from a distant land. During the discussion Andraste began to feel a bit hungry, and her head lady in waiting, gave orders for one to go to the kitchen for food. The girls continued their conversation, and a good amount of time had passed before they realized that the one to bring the food hadn't returned. Tirian, the head lady in waiting, ordered one of the other girls to go find her. After a short time, frustrated with how long the girls were taking, Tirian decided to go check out the situation herself. With Andraste in tow, they made their way to the kitchen. As they came around the corner of the hallway they noticed that one of the girls bodies was in the hall. The other hand maiden was eating her! Andraste had no choice, but to take matters into her own hands at that point. She yelled at her head lady in waiting to go into the other room, and grab her equipment. She ran as fast as she could and returned with Andraste's weapon. While they were trying to find a way out, the entire manor was overrun with the undead. in the scuffle Andraste was forced to see her head lady succumbed to the infection, and in turn was forced to end her suffering. Andraste fought her way out of the manor with fire, and her weapons skills. She ran into the village she was from, and saw that the infection had taken over the whole city. She did what she could by saving many people. She got them onto a ship that was about to leave to get the other half of her family that she knew now wasn't going to make it. As she turned around from where she was on the ship, she saw a necromancer and an ogre-zombie watching her leave. The necromancer lifted his hands, and as he did so, the people in her village that she thought were dead……rose again.
On the other side of Faerun, was a lovely family of halflings. the Tosscobble. They were the Lords of the land here, and they were also one of the oldest families in their tiny part of the country. The halflings in this part of the world were considered animal charmers. The family had become quite known for their relationships with the Dire Wolves that surrounded their home. In this particular part of the family tree, was Ander, his wife, and their two children. The Tosscobbles also had 4 Dire Wolves: Ghost, Lady, Shadowdog, and Grey Wind. The family was just enjoying a normal day in their life, when all that changed. They were making preparations for their wedding anniversary, and the nameday of their eldest Andrea. Ander was in his study making notes of things on their lands, and while doing so, his guard came to the room, and said that there was a strange man that wanted to speak with him. He said, "Let him in". A strange figure came into the room, and Anders offered him a chair. The man turned his hand at his guard, and said, "You will leave the room, and lock the door". The guard did just that. When the lock was engaged, the "man" took off his cloak and revealed a very lovely, and glowing young woman. She said to Ander, "My name is Vita, and I am the Goddess of Life". "I have been sent here to tell you of a great quest that you are about to be a part of." She continued, "The world, and the heavens have become susceptible to an ongoing plague of undead that we have not been successful in stopping since it began". "A man named Preston has turned thousands into an undead army". "Where he goes, they go, and the army is just getting bigger". Anders questioned the Goddess with questions like, "Why me?" and "What about my family?" As they were talking there was another knock on the door. The guard poked his head in and said that a strange woman all in black was wanting a moment of his time. He told him to let her in, and Vita got irritated. The woman came in and said, "I am the Goddess of Death, Macha". "I am here to tell you……." and her sentence trailed off, when she saw that Vita was there. She turned to her, and said, "So he already knows?" "Yes, he does." "Is he joining us?" "I was just about to get to that part Macha, thank you!" Vita and Macha explained the situation to Ander. There was a prophecy that said that he and another were the two heroes that would save this world from the HUGE Undead. Anders agreed to go on this quest, if the two Goddesses could keep his family safe. The two agreed, and they called for his family. The Goddess of Death told the children that things would be ok, and that their father would join them soon. she snapped her fingers, and the family and the 3 Dire Wolves disappeared. Ander quickly ran to his ready room to get his equipment. He could hear the crys of the undead as he made his way down the hall. The three of them and the Dire Wolf made it to his ready room just in time. they closed the door and barricaded it. Soon they could hear the sounds of a massive body making it's way down the corridor. They all prepared for battle, and got everything together, just as a huge Ogre-zombie crashed through the door. the three of them fought valiantly, until the Goddess of Life was bitten by one of the zombie hoard that had crashed the Tosscobble party. Ander had to take the life of a Goddess in order to keep her from changing into an undead herself. Ander went into the city to get out of Dodge. He helped rescue over 50 people. While trying to flee with the people that he saved, a Cleric Zombie hurled it's great scythe at him. Ander got out of the way of the scythe in time, and only to see it impale his son to a nearby tree. Ander quickly whipped the horses to escape, and was able to take a little over 50 people out of the town, and to safety as well.
